Liberty Hill

Welcome To
Liberty Hill

A secluded, historic small town outside Austin that offers the finest in country living.

History

Liberty Hill dates back to the 1840s, although it didn’t receive its name until the post office opened in 1853. The community has always had roots in the agricultural industry, an element that has certainly contributed to today’s small-town vibe. Now the area is popular with families seeking out a safe area and good schools to raise children.

The local climate is perfect for growing, whether residents choose to farm crops, like corn and other vegetables, or opt for flowers. While the summers get hot, the winters are mild, and people who love to spend time outside appreciate the ability to comfortably do so through the vast majority of the year.

What to Love

Local Lifestyle

Peace and quiet are the two words most often used to describe Liberty Hill. The community is rural, making it perfect for those who want to live a country life while still having easy access to a small, quaint town that offers everything you need day-to-day. People are friendly, the views are incredible, and things move at a relaxed pace.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

There is no food more quintessentially Texan than barbecue, and Agape BBQ is the best of the best. Try the Weighed Sandwich, a mountain of brisket, pork, and sausage, perfectly roasted and dripping with sauce.

On the rare days that you don’t want barbecue, head to Dahlia Cafe for Southern classics, like shrimp and grits or blackened Cajun tilapia, or go to Major’s Burger Company, where you’ll find the best burgers and fries in town. Find a little Latin flavor at Jardin Corona, with menu options including their signature Steak a la Jardin Corona.

Things to Do

There’s always something going on in Liberty Hill. Happy hour lovers will love visiting some of the local tasting rooms – Thirsty Mule Winery offers wine tasting options to sample a variety of their blends, while San Gabriel River Brewery has food options to pair with their beers and offers membership options for frequent customers to get first notice of new flavors. Fire Oak Distillery makes bourbon and vodka, and visitors can sip on the spirits while enjoying live musical performances from local talents. You can also head to Liberty Hill Beer Market to try a variety of brews in their beer garden.

The most popular annual event in Liberty Hill is definitely the Crawfish Boil, hosted in March. Dig into pounds of fresh crawfish, perfectly seasoned, while you enjoy a day with family, friends, and community.
